Custom Leather Fire Helmet Shields Fronts and Radio Straps

Hand made leather fire helmet shields and radio straps. These custom leather helmet fronts are well suited for interior firefighting. They are durable, water resistant, and can be made in any size and shape.
Shield / Front Construction
These helmet fronts look best on a leather New Yorker or Sam Houston, but will fit other makes and non leather helmets. Shields are cut from a large sheet of 13 - 14 oz heavy leather then the shield is cut in desired shape. The front is carved (tooled, embossed) based on the chosen design, dyed, then stitched to a 4 - 5 oz leather back with 100% cotton thread. Then final color is added, and they are sealed for protection. The helmet shields are about 1/4 inch thick, give or take.
